Rtn. Bhaskar Ranjan Bhattacharya

 With profound grief and sorrow, Rotary Club of Durgapur Central condoles the sad and untimely demise of Rtn. Bhaskar Ranjan Bhattacharya, who left for his heavenly abode on 18th July, 2008 at AMRI hospital Kolkata, after a brief period of illness. He is survived by his wife, Bipasha, and daughters Bhaswati and Debarati. We pray for the eternal peace of his soul.

 

Rtn. Sunil Kumar Mukherjee


With profound grief and sorrow, Rotary Club of Burdwan Greater condoles the sad demise of Charter President Rtn. Sunil Kumar Mukherjee, RFSM, who left for his heavenly abode on 8th September, 2008 at Bangalore, after a protracted period of illness. He is survived by his wife, Anubha and sons. We pray for the eternal peace of his soul.

 

Rtn. Bendanglila


With profound grief and sorrow, Rotary Club of Mokokchung (Nagaland) condoles the sad demise of their current year's Secretary, Rtn. Bendanglila, who expired on 27th September 2008. She was under treatment for Breast Cancer for the last couple of years.

PDG Rtn. Prith Paul MPHF 

Rtn Prith Paul was born on 26th January 1936. He joined Rotary in the year 1972. He was the President of Rotary Club of Asansol for the year 1978-79. During his Presidentship, he was very instrumental in making the complete annexe for Mother Teresa Leprosy Home situated in Shanti Nagar near Chittaranjan. He was always an outstanding and dynamic Rotarian.

He was the District Governor of our district in the year 1991 - 92. During his District Governorship, he was very active and played a key role in Raising Funds for Polio Plus of The Rotary Foundation. He was the District Governor at the time when PRIP Rtn. Rajendra K. Saboo was the R. I. President.  

Around three years back, Late Rtn. Paul had a fracture of the femur bone in his left leg. Since then he had multiple clots in the thalamus portion of his brain. Due to these clots, his thalamus portion of the brain got severely damaged. He was not so active and he always needed somebody for his mobility. But for the last one and a half month he was completely bed ridden.  

Late Rtn. Paul was very social, friendly and was a very active social worker. He always played a dynamic role in Rotary Extension and was involved in opening  and promoting Rotary in most of the clubs in that region.

He was also the former President of Asansol Merchants Chamber of Commerce for many years.  

He had attended the installation function of Rotary Club of Asansol on 5th July 2008.  

He is survived by his wife Anne Manoharlata, 2 sons, 1 daughter and 5 grand children.  

He expired at his residence on 29th October 2008 at 4 am due to massive cardiac arrest.
